does anyone know how many hours labour i should be looking at to have my alternator changed? also should i have the belt replaced whilst its off? thanks

Labour, i think I paid 2 hours.

no more than 3, and yes change the belt and inspect the tensioner/idler, if in doubt, replace

is this simple enough to do fred? I've done a few alternators now, but never thought to attempt the clio for some reason :S

the aux belt is a tw*t

offical times are

2.1 hours to do an aux kit
or
2.7 to do the alternator (aux included)

not really, jst a special tool makes it way easier

yeah a cup aux belt takes about 5min

Are the Tensioner/Idler expensive parts and what is there to look out for on them?

Still waiting to get my Alternator changed so looking at trying to sort out any likely weak spots with car at the same time just to get it sorted.... Depahser will have top wait as far too many ££'s for the time being.
