Alternator?????

my battery dash light came on last night, but went out when i revved the car, but today it totally died on me, electrical power went because the lights dimmed, stereo died, then the car stalled...its a 1.8 16v clio btw. the fanbelt seems ok, it sounds like the alternator but by any chance could it just be the battery??

Alternator sounds like its gone
eacy way to check get the battery charge if it starts the car then its the alternator. check the earthing leads though on the alternaot though there usless.

Might be the battery in the cold they don't hold power as well get it checked if you want.

were r all the earthing points on the valvers? ? my lights dim and when i rev it they brighten up iv tested the batt thats ok and the alt is charging the batt so the only thing i can think of is a dirty earth or lose ? ?
