Altinator bearings

After a month or so of trying to find out where the noise from the engine bay was coming from i got a second opinion from a fellow Clio Sport enthusiast. Reckons its my altinator bearings. Need some advice on how to fix this problem?
Can i just change the bearings?
Is a new altinator needed?
What risk am i running using the car like this?

Woops, that might help. I have a PH2 172 with aircon. Had belts and retainers changed in August too (4000miles) ago.

new alt fella, its not a DIY job to pull the thing apart

Thanks for the help. What sort of price am i looking at to get a new altinator? New? or refurbished? Is this a common fail with these engines/altinator type?

Shop round prices vary depends what alternator you neede you need to see what you have
