Am I a mug for thinking of swapping?

Hi All,

Its time for the Clio 172 to go, I am paying £2,000 a year insurance and i'm only driving it on a weekend!

I've got some options. I can have my Dad's 05 reg diesel Mondeo for cheap to run around for a while, or i've been offered a 1.8 Vectra SRi, 02 ref with 75 k on the clock.

Anyone know what the Vectra is roughly worth? My Clio has 72k, cambelt change, FSH, then all the usuals, totally standard so im guessing that's worth about £2500?

If I swap it for the Vectra, am I loosing out?

id say the vectra was £1.5-£2k

surely the vectra wont me that much chepaer to insure?or run?

The Vectra is only £650 to insure!

I haven't really looked into that to be honest.

I need to drive my car in the week sometimes to work, and I always get stuck on the M6 as I work in Birmingham and its killing me in fuel! The tax isn't much either at £220 for a year :-(
