Am I going crazy?

  mk2 Pre f/l - Keeks
I swear my car (mk2 p1) is sitting low on the driver side, roughly about an inch last time I checked but it feels like it is slowly getting lower.
The car has been kept pretty well, only one lady owner before me and used mainly for the school run and shopping. When it went for its MOT it sailed through, just handbrake adjustment and an advisory for the tints on my rear lights, I asked the guy about this problem and he said he wasn't too sure but so long as its not scraping the floor or the suspension was obviously not working that its not something to worry about. Just thought I'd post up here, see if any of you would be able to point out a problem? Planning soon on getting a new suspension setup, do you think that may help? If so, any recommendations on a sub £3-400 (pref. under 300) setup?

Cheers in advance!

For under 300 your probably best off looking for secondhand standard or cup setup if your bolt spacing allows. Any coilovers under 500 wont be great but plenty of people buy them.

I would have been convinced of a broken coil spring but any MOT tester would surely have spotted that. If it were mine I would be checking myself to be sure, looking at the very ends of the coils where they seat. Do you have pics of how it sits?

Ive tried to take pictures, but you cant make out the drop *sigh*
A few people are saying broken coils, any advice on checking them? what to look out for, how to best view them etc? And even if it is a coil problem, How could I tell it isnt the shocks aswell?

what sort of feeling would I be looking out for? and whats the best way to get to them? jack it up and all that, but if possible not removing the wheel?

You should sort of see the broken spring especialy if you look at the other side of the car for comparison.

Easier to remove the wheel but you cna just jack the car up and have a look with the wheel on

as luck (?) would have it, came out earlier to find a flat tyre and dead battery, figured while I had the jack out, I may aswell whap the wheels off and have a looksey... as far as I can tell, the springs look ok, just a bit rusty... Then again, im like a monkey with a wrench and prozak at times...
Thinking just getting a new suspension setup and hope for the best really. Any reccomendations on suspension? Ideally looking for a stiff ride and 60mm front, 40mm rear drop (or even adjustable?) but within a £300 budget?

For that budget maybe some cheap second hand coilovers but it not going to be great handing or ride wise.

IMO just renew the stock stuff with new bith maybe some new springs if you realy want but IMO stock are better.

Ill try some new springs when I next have the money (would be sooner but having some more important difficulties right now *sigh*) see if that helps, if so, gae, if not, i'll then try new shocks etc, should hopefully sort it out eventually
