Am I un-neccessarily OCD with the Clio? Whats the deal with these things anyway!

  Arctic 182
Ever since i've owned the car i've always been far too protective.

For example I very rarely drive certain people in my car as I feel they can't be trusted. For example about a year ago a mate was driving home from a club and after picking up a maccy d's and one of my mates preceded (spelt right?) to launch mango chutney sauce at some girls- missing and spraying it all over beige interior.

I'm also cleaning the car very ofter and every scratch, ding, stone chip breaks my little heart.

I've basically just had a argument with the sister... Im cleaning the interior and she's walking past after walking the dog, she then decides to allow the dog to jump at the side of the car whilst on the lead. I see red and vent my fury, she follows with multiple insults which include it's a 6 year old (5 year actually) Clio not a Porsche.

Is anyone else like this? I just know the difficulty it takes to remove scratches from the car and annoys me when people can't treat something i clearly take care of with resepect.

Dahhh rant over

thats not ocd at all mate, just courtesy.

Whether it's worth £5000 or £500,000, it's still someone else's car. I'd be pissed off too.

  Nothing at the mo :(
Its called pride and joy aswell as a hobby..

its like taking a train out of its box infront of a train collector who just paid £1000+ for it....

My mate would have been walking home if that was me and the dog and the sister would be locked out in the garden for a while. dog would be allowed back in after five min's sister maybe a week.

Im like that with my 1.2, i try and get out of giving people lifts etc they are so heavy handed. f**k knows what im going to be like when i own an rs lol.

  172 track thingy
Some1 tried to snap my aerial off which I caught them in the act so therefore continued to nearly snap there nose off with my fist!

I am also overly protective but it took 2 years of rele scrimping and saving to be able to buy my pride and joy so I don't want some1 else to mess it up after all that :)

Exactly! I pay about 1/3 of my wage on this car so want to keep it looking my best. It also is like a hobby of mine and my little baby girl. ( I also have a gf but she comes 2nd)

P.s. am not a chav, but one of my friends sadly lost control of his morality due to alcholic beverages!

Not ocd at all imo. I'm the same with mine it's only a 1.2 but it's my first car and i bought it for myself unlike other people i know that have had theirs bought for them and don't give a sh1t about it.

Defo agree mate....not OCD at all....its your car, you've worked hard to be able to afford it, no matter how much it was

Mine gets oil changed every 6k, Renault service every year, fully detailed twice a year and washed regularly (and i admit i fold the wing mirrors in when i park)

My mate threw an open carton of milk (the tiny ones for coffee) into my 1st car through the sunroof.

The taxi home cost him £60.

Not really OCD. Some passengers wonder why I turn my mirrors in when parked "it's only a Clio afterall" and why I'm reluctant to put it in a tiny bay at the supermarket next to a s**tty looking car/van covered in dents... But in my mind I'd just rather walk an extra 50 yards to the shops than come back and find a dent in the door.

I park in the next postcode when I go to a supermarket - never within 100yards of the entrance, unless it's like midnight or something. My car is over 6 years old now with 83k on the clock. But I still look after it. I don't bump up on curbs. I always let the oil temp get warm before giving it some beans. I'm very mechanically sympathetic with it - probably the main reason why its never been on track - lol.

I also detail my car maybe twice, but certainly once a year too. It's not only my daily driver, but a car I genuinely like and have forked out a lot of money for. Hence why it gets TLC spent on on it. I don't think you have OCD - you just have respect for your car and want to look after it. Personally, I would have volleyballed the dog into next door's garden if it did that to my car.

Pic's of sister also...

As for the car thing. You're fine, it's perfectly normal. My mate put his hand on my paintwork the other night... He may be bigger than me but f**k it, i threw some word's his way.

I got mega rage when my friend leant against my car, and everyone thought I was out of order e.g. the usual "It's just a Clio".

Im exactly the same mate, nothing out of order about how you responded. Ask her to bring something to you thats work a few grand and get the dog to jump on it, see if she understands.

Not unreasonable it's just about respect and whether you have the 'car gene' or not. Most people couldn't care less about their own car let alone someone elses. Had a very similar thing my my gf letting the dog jump up at the car- i thought it looked like wolverine had taken a dislike to it, she couldn't see a scratch.

I'll never forget the day my dad picked up a brand new TT back in '03 all the extras etc BOSE sound system, first car he'd ever bought brand new. That night my sister proceded to vomit down the inside of the passenger door when he picked her up from a party. It got absolutely everywhere even behind the door card. She was absolutely remorseless about it as 'it's only a car'.

I'd have disowned her as a child. Throwing up on it is one thing, not caring about it is something completely different. People who have no respect for other peoples posessions piss me off massively.

totally agree mate i'm 26 years old and owned my clio for about 3 weeks now, long story but i had my brother and his wife lodging with me as i needed help with my mortgage well they didnt respect my property at all my bro threw my £400 dyson down the stairs and decided because he had locked himself out rather than to phone me as i was 5 minutes away to instead kick crap out of my pvc back door until it bent inwards!! well that was the last straw and 2 weeks ago i kicked them out literally kicked the crap out of my bro on the drive. well gettin back to the subject he came round last week to see if they had mail and decided it would be ok for him to sit his 14 stone ass on my bonnet whilst we were arguing, the red mist ascended and i aint seen him all week, I worked hard when i was 18 to buy this house and now my car and my doley little brother doest respect it sorry bout the rant lol

No one ever eats in my car, and if anyone ever sits on it they will witness the fury unleashed. Sitting on bonnets and leaning back on wings or doors, is punishable by death. No need. f**k off home and go for a nap if you're too tired to stand up. People with no respect for the property of others, really should be killed. Regardless of the value.

Pics of your sister though?

It cost the same to respray a clio as it does a porsche, so the "its just a clio" argument that some people use is irrelevant really

Some of my mates give me this "It's only a Clio" patter, it's the most expensive thing I've ever purchased in my life so I want to look after it, what's hard to understand about that you thick cnut.

I think your main problem is your friends.

I don't mind people eating in my car. I don't mind people being in my car. But they wouldn't damage it or disrespect it. If they started trying to eat the headrests or wanted to s**t on the roof then I'd just give them an infraction.

no one:
eats food that can fall apart, is allowed to drink from cans, get in with dirty feet, lean on the car, write on my windows, rub the paint, and NO ONE FARTS (i pull over and let them out)!!! it taints the interior lol

you dont have ocd, just like to look after whats important to you! my car is the most expensive thing ive bought so far so why not treat it like it! i was exactly the same when i had my 16 year old valver with rusty arches...

I'd be pissed mate... Some people don't care about there own possessions and there the people that don't have the courtasey of other peoples possessions...

My mates know not to mess with my car because it means a lot to me. Bar banging on the roof to set the alarm off. b******s. Doesn't cause any damage though so its quite funny.

I previously owned an ek9 and it was immaculate and most importantly the recaro bolsters were spot on with no wear. I used to make excuses to not pick one of my mates up because he was a bit chubby and his arse squashed my lovely bolsters! lol The car was written off by the next owner :(
