Amazed :)

Been looking at Insurance qoutes for my car as it runs out soon... Been looking for guide prices on GoCompare and Comparethemarket.com and the best quote I got was from Admiral for £989. Thought i'd see what Brentacre could insure me for with the possiblity of some modifications.... £939 with a peak power of 180bhp and all other modifications insured like-for-like! Well I know who i'll be going with come renewal time! :) So happy that my insurance will under a £1000 for the first time ever!

LOL it's a great feeling when your quotes finally start appearing in triple figures hahaha

Worth giving Natwest online insurance a try. I just got a renewel which starts on the 21st may for £406 with 5 years NCB but also 9 points.

Better than what was coming up on all the comparison websites.

How do flux evaluate your modifications thought? Because Brentacre as have a limit of horsepower and then all suspension, mounts, cage and buckets, fibreglass panels etc etc are all insured like-for-like for no extra cost.

They didnt charge me any extra for air filter, exhaust or seats, would have been £30 extra for coilovers iirc. Mods are done on a like for like basis as far as im aware - could be wrong though tbh. Best off giving them a call, or HIC for that matter - although they are the same company ...

I got insurance with Highway through Adrian Flux in April. They told me that any non-power mods won't add to my premium, I just have to tell them so they can update their systems. Quote was £780 at 22 with 4NCB. For power at 185bhp, they see it as a 13bhp increase and was an extra £80. I assume the mods are insured like for like but will actually check that as I'm not 100% sure thinking about.

My mate got his insurance with Highway through Greenlight and since has has his Golf GTI running an additional 45bhp and Greenlight didn't increase his premium as they say stats show that getting a car chipped doesn't make you any more likely to crash! Unfortunately, if you have a quote with Highway through Adrian Flux, Greenlight won't give you a Highway quote because "highway would be in competition with themselves" as Highway could see they'd already quoted me. I assume it'll be vice versa if you try Greenlight first. Either way, I was extremely happy with my quote and Adrian Flux customer services have so far been far far better than any company I've used before, staff are more knowledgeable.
