If you think of them being a general mass electronics retail store like say a comet, or a music retail store like an HMV then yeah it would seem stupid.

From the article it would seem they are looking at it to market their own products, which seems to work well for apple.

I disagree, I hate waiting for stuff. If I'm off work, I'd happily jump in the car and go grab it. Although you could say depending on what way you look at it that there is a slight bit of irony in there somewhere... When your biggest seller is a digital reading device...
