AMD vs INTEL (dual core)

Seb, I would go Intel, but you won't notice any difference in the real world no matter what you choose. You are not the type to be monitoring frame rates and getting UberGeeky, and you are not a massive shooter fan. I would go with Intel, but if you are really penny pinching then then AMD will do just fine for your needs.

Go with Intel. I worked there for 14months and know that all the benchmarking the lads did in the labs against AMD the Intel chip always came out on top. With our older processors we were losing massive market share to AMD but the new dual/quad cores have seen Intel get back in the game again because they are the best at the mo.

Nice, I have not tried 2006 yet?
but have managed 15230 on 2005 with my 5200+ and 8800GTX
