It beats r8's pretty easy already lol...

next month or two I will be doing crank pulley, heat exchanger, intercooler pump, split cooling loop and tuning which will put me to 550ish if not a bit more, then summer will be headers and that will then push over the 600bhp mark :)

Had some exhaust work done, this video was when it was just done, it's softened a bit :) secondary cats removed, centre resonator removed, x pipe fitted, baffles removed in backboxes.

I like this, can you fit a tow ball?

Yup :) I don't think it would have any trouble towing a lorry either lol!

Will try try and convince the misses or someone to film it on something better than an iphone

Pics look cracking!! Much nicer than the old E55. Can't hear much from the exhaust through, will check it on the PC later rather than Iphone.

Nice, but you should look at changing the steering wheel entirely. Its one of the worst things on the E55, it looks like it came off a bus.

It's a pain swapping the wheel as mine is an 804 build not an 805.... So the newer wheel won't fit I have been told? However I can get hold of a leather air bag for my wheel then have my wheel re padded and re trimmed :) plus for the cost I would rather get cls dials in black with the lap timer and 200mph limit :)

i thought the grill looked crap in the first picture then saw what it looks like in the most recent pictures and i gotta say it looks utterly fantastic, top marks!!!

Mint!

are they generally reliable?

Engine and gearbox wise yes, very.... They will run 600bhp daily and not have any issues.

they can have suspension issues and the electronic brake servo can also be an issue.... But once replaced then no issues....

Once derestricted these are 200mph cars lol

Can each problem be fixed for under a grand? That's my bork fund!

tempting!

Pretty much, just replaced my airmatic pump for under 300, rear shocks a pair with lifetime warrantee is 400 and front are about 600, sbc which is the brake cylinder is about 1200 but most will be replaced for free or for a big reduction in price through mercedes....

Other than that mods can be expensive... Manifolds or headers as everyone calls them are 1400ish but you get 60-80bhp, pulley and tune can be done for 500ish and exhaust is around 700-2k depending on what you do, but you would be looking well over 600bhp closer to 700bhp if done correctly...

Mercedes will not replace SBC for free, or even for a reduced price anymore.

Really? I have had 2 dealers said they would, infact one is doing it in 2 weeks on mine :p mine is on the original one which has a vosa warning on it which is advised that it's exchanged under goodwill on the system...

What does the pulley and new map make on it's own? I don't think I'd take it any further if that made over 500

520-540 depending on what you go for, to be honest I would avoid a supercharger pulley and go for a crank pulley, changing the supercharger pulley seems to have a fair few issues recently, the weistec crank pulley will make 540-60 with tune but it's closer to 700 for a crank pulley and tune

To be honest I will be happy with 600 I will most likely go crank pulley next and then headers after that and stop there otherwise I will be going mad! Would love to stick a new weistec supercharger on it but then that's 7k for 800bhp lol I will defo do a LSD too

edit with my exhaust mods so far I should be 500ish if not just over.

Yep, its probably the most discussed topic on MBClub, if you manage to get it done you will have been VERY lucky, a number of people are resorting to just having the unit reset if it allows it.

Yes, most of the guys on the uk clubs who have a 55k have a pulley and tune which will bump over the 500bhp mark...

some in America are running with a lot of mods hitting 600 and some above...

needed new rear discs and pads, went oem for the fact it was fairly cheap (discs and pads and sensor came to £103) which is really cheap lol! Rear discs are big as far as rears go, 330mm!

cf1c1f7ed83b6b59a798a6cf254a1a49.jpg

was an absolute b**ch to fit who ever had the rear calipers off last used hulk to do them up! I burnt out a Clark mains powered impact wrench trying to undo them! Tbh it was struggling to undo the wheel bolts and it was brand new, machinemart weren't too keen to give me a refund but got it in the end!

the only way to undo in the end was to put a spanner on a bolt, then rest the spanner on a piece of wood and lower the car on a jack to put the weight of the car on the spanner and bolt to undo it! And as these weigh the same as a range that's a lot of weight!!!!

Will be be giving her a clean tomorrow so will post pics :)

E55k are awesome and such a lot of car for the money now, regarding sbc one of my customers had a cls500 2005 (done May this year) 125k miles and part merc history part specialist mad they covered it so long as he paid for the short test (£70).

i was surprised!
