Amp killing battery

Hi,
I have an amp fitted to my car and i understand that using this without the engine running is going to use the battery power up fast.
but if i listen to music for literately 1 minute the car will not start after that and will require jump/bump start.
What can i do to solve this? A more powerful/ longer lasting battery?
I was told by halfords that my battery was fine just needed charging

As stated, have you charged the battery? If you haven't go charge it and see what it's like, you'll have more time than 1 minute off a fully charge battery
