think it can be done - its only 12v thats needed. Shouldnt see why you cant draw that from the lighter.

lol, in that case, u could plumb an amp into a constant livein the cars wiring then, for example, one that powers the head unit - interior lights?

wires are too thin, wont be able to cope with the ampares you need, youll fry the wires trying to run the amp off the ciggie lighter!

there would be far too much resistence in the wires for this to be possible

If you ran a fat old power cable to the lighter, and a similar sized one (earth) away from it, it could be done, but after this bother you might as well have used the wires direct to the amp!
