annoying wipers!!

  RB182cup&golf gti

stupid pc strikes again  Had the 182 cup for a week now and its a top motor, however............... May sound stupid but the intermittent wipers are not intermittent as they have all of a second break between wiping the windows - looked in the manaul and it says should be able to adjust the time by rotating the stalk - doesnt appear to be an option on mine - any ideas, should i take it to renault? also got the dreaded glove box rattle and the clicky clutch! part from that spot on :D

For the intermittent wipers to work I believe you have to switch off the auto-rain sensor wipers. I get the same with my 172. Dont ask me how to switch the rain sensors off, perhaps someone else can answer that.

no rain sensitive wipers on the cup - just badly set up, reluctant to take it renault yet though as dont want a big dinge putting in the door ;)

I know the clutch has been mentioned on another thread, is this somert you can sort yourself then - its not causing any probs as it only does it when i very first move off in 1st gear from starting the car, then it goes away.

Mine seem poo aswell.

When i use the intermittent setting... they never work. Unless it starts raining quite heavily.

I have to keep turning the main wipers on, and then off again.

I dont find theres any difference between max and min sensitivity on the rain sensitive wipers. I cant stand them, they are complete dogsh*te. Bring back the old intermitent ones where you can alter the gap between wipes yourself!

i get on fine with my auto wipers, especially on the motorway!

can be a pain when the car has damp on the window though! they tend to go crazy :S

Its not so much a sticky clutch - all that happens is everytime i get in the car and start it, select first gear and move off i get a click/vibration through the pedal - it only ever happens though when i start the car

Totally agree. I think Im more than capable of determining if my wipers need to be on or off myself.

I get a click from the sensor on the cluch (somthing to do with the esp i think) and a slight resistance from my cluch.... but its just the mechanism in the footwell... have a look ull se what I mean need some lubrication.

Hear, hear, this was discussed only a few days ago.
Some ppl like them, i think they are a waste of time and just another gimmick thats bound to go wrong eventually:( .
Its not exactly hard to turn them on yourself, when you want them on.
Give me back the intermittent setting any time.

theres a little blue button bye the 2 interior reading lights. think that has something to do with the sensitive wipers. i find them good on motorways but other thatn that theyre annoying

the sensor for the wipers is in the front windscreen (you can see it when you are outside the car)

as chris said, i think the blue thing is something else

My wipers arent the rain sensitive ones though and there doesnt appear to be an adjuster to adjust the time, which at the mo is less than a second, may as well not be intermittent

Mine do that too - wiping like mad when there doesnt seem to be anything on the window apart from mist.

The adjustment should be on a ring around the stalk.
Same as the ring around the indicator stalk for your fogs.
