Another 16v clocks convertion topic...

  1.8 RSi MK1 Superchipped
Ok been trying to sort out my 16v clocks today and hit a few snags...

first up, how do i get the current RSi clocks out? i took the dash top off etc but looks like it needs undoing from the bottom :S

also found the connector for the aux dials, and when i put the ignition on the min/max worked... will the other two work once i got the engine running or will i need to change the sensors or sumink?

Although I bought the clocks, seems to be missing something around the aux dials missing... is there ment to be a surround for these? easy to come by?

how do i change the millage on the 16v dials to that on my dials? i stuck a drill in the back and it went up to 50mph and the trip counter was going, but this will take ages... is there a quicker way?

thanks for your help folks, i did try doing a search, but no such luck.

Can't help you on the main dials but the oil pressure/temp sensors won't work afaik because theres no senders on the F3P lump. Unless its a Ph3.

can they be added?

Also, I got all the main dials working correctly now, the only problem is the Temp, I can see there is teh temp there, but its not really visable like its not lite up or sumink... nor does it light up when I put the head lights on ( the rest does)

Ive tried swapping the bulbs... nuffink! anyone?

Sounds like a bulb, try replacing it to be honest.

To remove the dials, look under the steering wheel and unloosen the two screws and then take the top and bottom off. Now look underneath this part, and you will see two screws near the clocks, either side. Undo these, and the whole unit will pull upwards. Remember to detach the speedo cable when removing the clocks.
