I've had some stick for getting rid of the Impreza but the time was right and the trade in offered was the right price. Mileage was getting a little high and I was sh*tting myself everytime I drove it hard about another hatchback STi engine failure.

Is the RS more or less power than your Scoob ended up at?

About 25-30 brake less and a little (only 10 kilos or so) heavier.

I don't plan on keeping it at 300 brake for long tho!

I'm massively impressed with the upgrade... Pulls so much stronger on boost and just keeps pulling to the red line in every gear (not that I've been to the top of 5th or 6th.. 165 mph = jail time!!)

Hummm...Just Hummmmm!!!

My opinion is null void as i'm a cynical jew, but i see it as a massive downgrade over the Scoob, the scoob looked better, it was faster (Presumably) better drivetrain, Awesome set of mods you made, better image...

But, like you said, if you have/had overriding concerns over mileage and mechanical issues, then it's absolutely the right move. I'd do the same.

Im a wee bit with the jew here, but if the deal was right then fair enough.

Just didnt realise that the scoobs were 'that' chocolate after 34k or so, for me that in a 'modern' car is pretty pisch poor.

I know the older models have a notorious problematic time after 5/6 years or 70/80k with issues cropping up, but surely this should be an area that subaru would look to review and strengthen?

Sure the RS will be subject to good personalisation as per the evolution of the scoob before it. Not sure the tokyo plate will work though

As I keep saying that RS will stir something inside of you, it'll feel special to drive even if it has faults over the Scooby.

Agree with Ali, i much prefer the Impreza, but it sounds like you had more than enough reasons.

I remember hearing horror stories at Castle Combe. They had a fleet of the new Imprezas and they just kept blowing up, so they still use their old 1.6 Focuses!

Ford must be doing very well out of the RS, these things are everywhere now. Think i'm with Rob and Ali though, prefered your Impreza, though must admit, it is a lovely car.

Cheers Guys - i was very sad to see the Scooby go but with the warranty due to expire and no apparent option to renew it with Subaru and the high miles, i decided it needed to go.

Black intercooler is definitely on the to do list!

Amazing that the Impreza got so much flak at release, yet now I'm with the Jew et al, would much rather the Subaru! By no means a bad replacement though, enjoy. Ignore Munson, he's riddled with boost. Black on white looks great.

Black on White does look great, but the RS has massive arches, which look like there's nothing in them when you roll black. IMO.
