Another one bites the dust!

Valver No. 2 has met a traggic death, some bloke decided to pull out infront of me in the wet nothing i could do to avoid him - frontal impact

I might be buying the car back off the insurance when they write it off so a few of the members can benefit, everything seems to work engine still running etc can get full lock on with the wheel and the only damage is to the front. Car might even drive but i wont chance it. Just serviced the b**tard engine aswell £27 worth of fully synthetic:mad:

The guy in the other car drove away with light damage to his passenger front wing. bloody vw passat.

Thats sh*t mate, did he admit it was his fault or is there not really an arguement about it? When I crashed id just done a service as well, always makes me nervous when servicing this car!

I had this women slam on infront of me in the rain and there was not much I could have done either. Only hit it at 10mph or less but it still put a hole in the bumper, pushed the slam panel back and put a huge dint in my bonnet. Of-course her car only had a small crack on the back valance of her fessy. Front impacts seem to cause a hell of alot of damage. I ended up paying for all the damage on both cars because there was no witnesses apart from my mate in my car and the insurance company always take in favour of the person hit in the back. £86 for hers and about £500 for mine excluding a new bumper. sh*t happens i suppose...

I hope it is written off i dont want it back now after that, the airbag didnt fire which is a bit worrying my b**tard neck is killing me this morning didnt hurt at all after the accident i felt fine all be it a bit sick from the shock.:(

truly gutted for you mate :( nearly had the same thing happen to me a couple of days ago and i was gutted just thinking about what could have happened (luckily id just fitted new brake discs and pads as my old ones were shagged!). Im no insurance expert or nething but it looks in a bad way to me, so youd hope it was a write off. At least youve got your 172 still :)

Did you open the bonnet in the pic?

some1 told me that airbags dont always go off unless u hit something above 20mph, dont know if this is true or not but mine didnt when i hit something.

This is most likly true, if the airbag goes of in a low speed crash then its going to hurt you more when it goes off in your face at 200mph!

lol ok ill be the first vulture.

is your ecu chipped? are you running cams? is your head flowed? how much for your manifold heatshield...?....

by the way that looks repairable to me...new bumper wings and bonnet..

Trust me m8 the whole front end has been pushed back alot further than yours , and the chasis is twisted it would need jiging back into position and think the suspension is fooked.

No chip no cams fully standard, the oem manifold heatshield fell off and melted all my cables so i made my own out of brushed aluminium.

They need to be checked every 10yrs from what I recall. Theres usually a sticker somewhere nearby that says.

Better off not having them anyway;)

Scribbler, my chassis was also a bit bent (they never told me but some bits have definitely been bent and then straightened out)

I also needed a new rad and fan in the end. I imagine though going off what mine cost yours will be written off.

Thats what causes everybody elses insurance to go up. Fair enough if he does actually have whiplash but not if hes just going to take the piss.

Hate false or exagerrated insurance claims, the lassie I hit claimed she needed 2 weeks off work after teh accident and that seh was bedridden, odd seeing as how i had 2 brusies on my legs and a bit of a stiff neck. The judge threw her claim out saying she was exagerrating!!!

Insurance will write that off. Sperio who has a black valver on here had frontal damage, all taht was needed what bonnet, grill and bumper, insurance wrote it off.
So he bought it back and fixed it himself.
