Another Problem...

  Shhh

Checking over the car yesterday and i notice on of the rear tyres has started to crack on the tyre wall. Sort of in between the crown and the top. The tyres arnt that old but i dont have a receipt to prove it.

As these are cracking would i be protected against this with Michelin, who should i consult..

They are the Exaltos PE02.

where did you get them from? Id phone michelin technical and ask their advice.

You got a number, well the rear ones were the orignals i think. But the car is a year old. Tyres should last for at least 5yrs before they crack, they have been around 30-32 psi all the time.

mine have spent half their life on the side walls, you are not trying unless you can get the Michelin writing to wear off!

I would think yes you would be, and I would drive very slowly to your nearest kwik fit to get them to look at them.

ive lost the direct number for their technical dept but if you call them on 0800 056 2007 and ask for it sure they will help.

I think it is from throwing it about, but i dont wanna be stung for the £135 fee for a tyre. Ive looked on the website for the nearest place and they say Kwik Fit.

Its only small cracks, i think its from doing 40mph around roundabouts.

Shhh...

If the side walls crack its normally from running them on too low pressure or leaving them sitting when flat.

They said that i need to take them off the car, put new tyres on and send them off to michelin. If they find anything wrong i get some £££ back on the tyres.

Or i can contact renault..
