The DRLs fitted on new Porsche 911, BMW M5 and Audi S6 cars use a super bright LED technology called LUXEON.

How long before the Chinese flood the market with old style bright LEDs with LUXEON on the packing.

Just as the do with Xenon bulbs falsely marked HID.

Its been around for a while for other applications but relatively new for cars.
I am just fascinated by technology and how these things evolve. I think DRLs save lives, ask anyone who rides a motorcycle, so why are we so reluctant to drive with lights on during the day.

You aren't allowed to fly a plane or helicopter without anti collision strobes.

the torch in a sony ericsson w800i is a luxeon led, Phillips designed it IIRC, been able to get them in bicycle lights for a while now too.

Got my test in April, personally consider myself a dead man, wouldnt matter if i had strobes on the fron of my bike!!
