Anthractie Alloys PEEL!!!!!!

Cleaned my car today and found out that not 1m not 2, not 3, but all 4 of my 182s alloys are peeling!!!!

No idea why. It came out of the garage yesterday and i didn't check then but the paint is all bubbling and flaking off!!!

Is this normal???

Do i need a full refurb???

I'd get onto Renault UK though, it shouldn't be happening unless your mileage is way high?

Not likely on all 4. A pic or 2 should help mine were corroding a little & mines on 54plate. I Decided to refurb mine myself

Cheers for replies guys. Its a day out of standard warranty but i have a years extra warranty?!??!?!

Garage must have used acid wash mate. Mine were acid washed the other week by a bodyshop (Result was sh*te, didnt notice they had been cleaned! get Meguiars hot wheels!)

Well i have the answer!!! And you boys were right!!! A very bad wheel refurb!!! The flash on my camera has picked up the fact that the centre caps are a slightly different shade to the actual wheels. Where the paint is peeling off, you can see the original shade underneath!!! I'm disgusted and incredibly pissed off as I haven't had much luck with my new ownership so far

What do you guys suggest I do now??? I guess a full refurb is gonna cost me over £200???

They really are a poor quality wheel!!! that needs to be kept extra clean to stay looking like new

Wait for the paint to peel back, and hope it's all the same colour lol.

Not much you can do apart from get them refurbed yourself. The warranty you have won't cover that! And Renault won't do anything, as it's down to poor workmanship from the previous refurb.

My mates got a bodyshop next door to the garage, we use him for all our painting.

a) because he's cheaper than our own bodyshop
b) because he's better than our own bodyshop! lol

First port of call is Renault. 15 year paint/corrosion warranty they'd have to prove you've used acid on them, its worth trying anyway.
