Charcole canister. Which part of it is not connected the pipe or the electrical connector?

well u have the canister with the vacuum pipe on but i have also like another plug shape thing that looks like it fits into it this has a vaccuum pipe and an electrical bit on it

what does this do an hwat will it do if its not connected?

i think it recirculates some of the gasses making the car give better emmisions. im not sure what it will do if you disconect think it might eventually mess one of the 02 sensors up and put the warning light on dash up.
