Any decent cheap laptops around?

My old Vaio thing is dying a slow and painful death so needs replacing.

I'm not really up to speed on whats utter garbage or decent enough for what I want.

Basically need something fairly portable that can run Adobe photoshop/bridge etc and surf the web.

Does not need to be fancy, can be a refurbish model, prefer grade A though.

Looked around at the currys sale and it looks pretty pants.

Any suggestions for under £300? The less under the better TBH!

I've just bought an Asus from Currys. £279. Does everything I need, but I am pretty useless with a computer. Battery life is poor but doesn't bother me as I don't use it on the move.
