Any idea? 182/172

  A SHED!
The prices of these on average next year about may, once the new rs clio comes out? oh by the way....whats the performance specs on the 06' clio rs?

Expect a small price rise and I don't see them being discounted as much.
It might help firm up the 172/182 prices realy.

Engine is 192~198hp I think its 198 Din or whatever the Renault use which is 192UK HP. 6 speed close ratio box and 0-60 isn't much different. 10NM more torque though.

that would be coolio, but i won't hold my breath sadly.

That would be a cool Clio if they stuck the 225 engine in the Clio RS

Can't see it happening really though, there are always a load of rumour surrounding a new car and then it doesn't happen. I like the idea of the two bucket seats i the back but can't see it happening either!!

is the 2.0T megane engine heavier than the 2.0 na unit used in the 172/182 ? cos if it was it would effect handling and be nose heavy.

Isn't the new Clio a complete new chassis though? Surely they would design the new RS to cope with the extra weight and power they plan to put in there.

I would hope anyway!

well for a start JT confirmed it will be n/a, so rules out the possibility of the 225 engine, meaning i'd expect a moer stressed and modified f4r engine to be supplied

as edde says, around 190-195bhp is expected, they don't want the clio to be too much quicker than the flagship megane

trev - i expect it may use a box similar to the megane so as they can use the 6th gear the 182 should have had, i don't think size is much of an issue for the new clio though as the car appears quite a bit bigger than the previous model

The gearbox is a whole nely designed one its the same as fitted to the Clio/Modus 105dci its a new hydrolic box which is stronger and better.
Its closer ratio I think from the figures I've seen indicating its even higher reving at normal speeds but it should be quieter due to the new VVT/Vtec head.
