any info or tips on getting rid of foggy headlights?

hi im new on here and have not posted In any thread yet (i'll get some pics of my car up soon) anywhoo im seeking advice on how to clean the headlights? mine are very fogged up. I heard toothpaste is a good one but I wanted to do a good job of it! is there any walkthroughs on here? There is a guide but you won't go wrong with masking the paint off. Rub with 1200 grit then 1500. The meguires scratch x with a rotary polisher. They will be crystal clear. When you do the wet sanding ad a bit Of fairy liquid to.
