any sprayers about? advice needed

Car  LY 182
had a rear bumper painted a few days ago (was painted on friday) .. buffed saturday afternoon and picked it up yesterday night.

have used the body shop before they did a wing for me so i know they are good..

hes done it on the cheap as the bodyshop is next door to the garage i work at,,
problem is. the finish looks lovely nice and shiney and flat but the problem is its hard to touch but it still feels a bit like if you were to dig a nail in to it you could pick the paint off if that makes any sence
ie you can leave a dig in it with your nail

am i right in thinking it should be hard by now?

cheers

was it baked? if it was it should have been ok like staight away. i wouldnt polish it for a good couple weeks if it wasnt

It sounds like that not enough hardener has been added to the lacquer. Was it done in HS (High Solid) or MS (Medium Solid) lacquer? Normally lacquer should harden in 24 hours if it is not baked.

it seems to have gone harder today in the sun
will let him have a look at it tommorow see what he thinks though

ahhhh the old "chewy" stage, leave it in a room with the heating on full blast, bake it yourself lol

the bloke at the body shop said give it a few days see what its like if its the same he'l re do it
