I've just signed up for an account with a webhost, first thing I go to do is upload an sql backup which is 70 odd meg, get a 426 Operation not allowed error. I then find out that the host has a 50mb max filesize limit! Bit crap I rekon and I've never know it with any other host. So I contact support and they cryptically tell me you can get round it but they cant tell me how?? They told me to use Aceftp to do it but I cant see any options that look relevant. Also get the same 426 error as I did with my old ftp prog

Are they just BSing me and I need to find another host?

I don't think they are saying you have a limit of 50mb rather you can only upload files no larger than 50mb. Most FTP clients take this into account (it's quite common) and allow you to split large uploads into chunks smaller than 50mb which can be joined together again at the other end.

also very true. Sorry should of asked to have more in depth information.

So you are trying to import a 70mb SQL database backup into a new SQL database with the new hosts?

if so how are you doing this?
