any1 had the gdi..

  Audi A6 (S3 on order)
I take no blame when I was being told everything would be sorted, after a while you dont feel like chasing it ... and why should you.

Brakes, yes, but my point is I did not buy them from the manufacturer, if my tv blows up then I take it back to currys for them to sort, it's in your consumer rights. All this *****ing around going back to the manufacturer is crap, you dont have to.

I'm trying to avoid snidy comments at the moment, and as I said I got on really well with everyone at GDI ... maybe too well ? sometimes its easier to remain cold with people so that when you are not happy it's easier to be an arse about things ;)

Andy has been in touch with me today, so I am hopeful we can get some issues resolved later. Will keep people up to date.

I know lots of people have been 100% happy with GDI service, I was too until a certain point where the knowledge just seemed to be lacking on new products, but the services were offered and money exchanged hands.

I know of a couple of other customers that were not happy too, but not everyone voices their opinion on here.

I would like to see a return to form for GDI, I just hope Andy can pull it off.

we take all this seriously, i have contacted those involved and are making ammeds with regards their issues.

I am not going to try and blaim others, and am taking resposability for getting it sorted with the minium of fuss.

Believe me, I am gutted too. I care a great deal about my business. why would i go out of my way to cause problems (only to recieve the above)

not only is this hurtfull to read but its damaging..... however.....

as a note, we had always agreed to fix these problems for those concirned but time scales and commitments on both sides caused a break down in commumication, before this was posted up.

I wish we never had problems with our work, but thats life..... sometimes things dont go to plan.

Both Ross and Mark have been excellent customers having some new and exciting projects done with us, and that I thank them.

I am not angry with anyone for posting their views, I am upset that I was not able to deal with them before now though and to that I applogise.

We are taking steps to ensure that these problems dont happen again, its been a hard year with our growth and I am still learning. I am sure anyone in business will testify that you never have all the answers.

I can only appologies really for not being able to fullfill expectations in the manner expected. To err is human.....

however things are moving on and we strive to improve everyday.

thanks for listening

Andy

I'm sorry but if after £1k's of work if I was not happy then I would of gone elsewhere....simple as really.

The snidy comments was aimed at people who are quick to slate but have not used GDi.....some are hell bent on trying to ruin someones business/life for a 'giggle'........I cant think of anything more cnutish imo

With regards to returning items, it is upto the retailer to decide what there own warrenty terms are, if Andy has a 30day return to base then thats what it is, Yet the manufacturers warrenty maybe 12 months, so outside the 30days it is upto you to return the items.

As stated in my 1st post Ross, I am gutted for both you and Mark and I am sure Andy will sort you both out one way or the other and you can all forget this sorry state of affairs and enjoy your cars as you should be able to do.

Well done on coming on here Andy, musn't be easy to see all of this i'm sure. Hope everything gets sorted for you and your business stays on track.

I have dealt with GDI for many years now and found them to be both professional and friendly, always bending over backwards to help anyone out, and rectify problems, which unfortunately do happen in the world of ‘tuning’. Unfortunately the tuning world is a very b*tchy one, you will always get someone slagging of anothers work giving their opinion of what they did wrong. (prime example PE ‘commenting’ on aspects a friends Harvey Gibbs built engine)

Only Andy can comment on above individual cases, but I must say I have been surprised by what I have read in this thread, does not sound like GDI work at all *confused* (which I am certainly not disputing btw), and I am sure Andy is more than willing rectify any aspect of his work which the customer is unhappy with.

Quick question – does anyone think mapping a car is a simple task? Do any of you know what it actually involves?

I’m sure next week it’ll be one of the other tuners turn for a public stoning lol

Do you think BBPT, K-tech, Jabba Sport, AMD, Renault, Ford, Porsche, BMW etc all have 100% success rates?

Shame not every company can be as perfect as LAD motorsport :clown:

Interesting post this and i'm glad it's stayed live....

Rite, 1st off it's nice to see Andy on the forum explaining the difficulty's with Mark,Ross's and Alans car. But to be fair i still can't see past the 1001 excuses i've heard.(Some quite amusing)

I'm not going to sit here and pretend to know about chassis dynamics and Engine Harmonics. To be fair the drivability of any car is far more important than any bit of paper stating 'x' BHP. I'll leave that to the pro's, i can only suggest what i prefer.

People sit here and Rave about the service of GDi, on the front it looks good, Nice looking setup, a member of a car community which is nice to see. Also i'm led to belive contact with Andy is also very good....So why so many f**k UP's?

Simple....Too much work and not enough time to finish. Stoddie's car was totally rushed and imo poorly presented. (No i'm not talking about the colour ;)) things were flapping about & the engine cover was not his, bits wern't done and it was evident that it was a rush job....(We've not even got to the performance @ this point) It idled like a bag of nails, ran hot and spat out oil...And was far from quick. Allan was given a shoddy graph illustrating 202Bhp....It ran ALOT less...let me assure you.

Granted runing a garage isn't an easy job, my old man's been running one for 22yrs now. But he knows when to say No - i've not got time. or the resources.

In summary i personally have spent 1k on engine work, with people i've come to trust. Names arn't important @ this point, but I've had no problems and i'm happy with the work

Engine tuning is a vast business with alot of choices.. GDi hav a good rep with general work/services but with all these comments ^^ would you be happy with your car there??!!

I know i wouldn't.....

Really...

Andy has phoned me today and made me an offer to complete the work free of charge. Mapping to be done by others through GDI.

I like Andy he is a nice guy so I am prepared to give him one last go to see if he can resolve my problems.

Fingers crossed then I will report back and let everyone know. I think it is only fair to the forum users that people are allowed to express there opinions and report on experiences. There are plenty of pricks around who mouth off in these threads but I think it is obvious who these people are.

Interesting comments on here....I would not use GDI again after spending a large amount of money there for no real performance gain...seems I am not alone.
