Phase 1 Clio 172
i recently bought a 172 phase 1 knew it needed some engine work so i never payed much for it
now the lad when i bought it said headgasket had gone but when i looked no mayo in the oil cap and the car didnt overheat at any point on the 10 mile trip home
so anyways did a compression test and the car cylinders were at: 11-11-9-7 which looked as though the head had gone between cyclinders 3 and 4
so the compression was down abit which pointed towards the head so sent it off to the garge to get done
i rang him up today and he said that he had skimmed the head and thought the head gasket didnt seem to need doing but had bought a kit and inteneded to fit one anyways
but he does think it could be the valves?
but me and a mate have been talking and if it was them wouldnt be the presure be down on oposite cylinders rather than two adjacent cylinders as the firing cycle goes
im just wonderin if there are any problems that people have had lie this or any ideas what it could be ?
