Anyone Actually Like The 182

Is it me or does it just seem that nearly everyones comments on the 182 seem negative, Youd think the car was made by another manufacturer rather than it being a RenaultSport

Comments like "It only makes 7.1 from0-60"

I mean did anyone actually think the 182 would knock a second off the 0-60 LOL, It does 7.1 and the cup beats it............so what ?

Reckon during Feb/March all were gonna have a repeat threads on which is fastest between 172, cup & 182 with those who have spent £14k on a new 182 being left to feel like theyve been ripped off in buying one

Come on guys............its one of our own !!

Seen it all before when the MK2 was released and then when the Cup came out. Now its exactly the same for the 182. Comical really, given the minute differences between the versions of the car.
 


I like it !!! got some great colours available on it too !! waiting to see one in the flesh to pass real comments - specially on that rear ass !

I think most the press can see its just a way of inserting a bit of life in the old gal and extend its shelf life.

I really like the wheels especially in anthracite because for me, the 172 wheels were always a little too close to the 1.2 dynamiques and even more so now they have 15" versions of them. The 182 wheels (which are going to be used on the megane 225 so wed better get used to them) stand out from the rest of the range and distinguish it as a Renaultsport!

I like the 182, I like them all.

It doesnt bother me when people go on about 172s and 182s beating V6s either. Perhaps they can, perhaps they cant

Couldnt give a sh1t.

Each to there own, and buy what you like.:)

i like it, but Ive already got a Mk2 172 so i cant see any point getting a 182, if u had a mk1 or Cup itd be a bit different i think.

if I was buying new today, I rather get a 11k 172 from a import broker than 14.6k 182 from a dealer, each to their own but thats big price difference, .. and I dont like the wheels..
 


the only things thats annoys me is the fact that it is another way for renault to kill the resale value of our current cars!!!!!

the figures will be better once its been run in, or so the normal trend in Reno engines and numerous posts on the subject would suggest. I like em, could do with looking more agressive, but cool none the less. The Cup is supposed to be 6.9 book aint it? but in reality 6.4, so half a second when run in is a crazy difference. Might think of having one when there a year old...

I like the pictures ive seen so far.

I like the wheels, probably cos i hate the wheels on my 172. I like the ass, especially the twin pipes at the back.

think people are a little dissapointed because 10 bhp, 2 peashooter exhausts and some rims even more ugly than a 172s hardly a big step up.
The mk2 was a fair difference over the mk1 and the cup was a more directed approach...the 182 is neither

The changes under the skin are slightly more extensive than that, what makes you think the 182 is less directed?

Theres no doubting the cups greatness i think this "its just exhausts and 10bhp" stuff is a bit petty. Are you worried it might show the cup up?

I love my 172 to bit.. such a beautifull car, I cant stand the 182 though, the bodywork , the looks etc is all horrible, and the interior looks terrible :p

Its basically the same car as _KDF said, but im not to sure about the twin exit exhaust system, they have made it very difficult for you to change the exhaust system if you want it a bit louder, apart from that is IS basically the same car.

There has been 100s of people stickin twin outlets on their 172s, and as I recall most post replies were loving it. Now that Renault have done it "properly" its suddenly sh*te ?

Must get a single outlet for my v6 ASAP.
 


It has grown on me achually

Its not worth 14 k in my opinion 12/13k max there a 172 in went and sat in at the dealers today and I loved it would have takemn it of there hands but putting my sensible hat on its not worth the extar cost a (about 9k over 3yrs).

The new dynamic front looks worse than the old one though although the wheels do look good.

The more and more that come out about the 182 make me think its a better car and not just one or two components changed to sell a few more.

A good step in the right direction. But i wanna see a 250bhp 2.0 turbo 4x4. (Rally that bugger). It cant be too hard for em. Trouble is it would probably cost about £25k then.

I really dont think they have moved the game on enough to warrant another model name,i mean would it be so hard to give it a little more noticable power.Its a poor excuse when they could of made something to beat a civic type R quite easily.

Somehow i think the people at the top didnt want to loose out on valuable CUP sales so made a few slight adjustments to make a new car but not to kill current fast hatches.Maybe a neat marketing ploy to the press but it wont cut it with real drivers,just the people who walk in a showroom and see paint ,alloys and a badge to cloud their judgement.

I think the same as I do about cups. Its the same car FFS! dont go in for all this inter model bitching. Its the same car with a different zorst and twin pipes. Its a top motor just like the 172.End of.

To be fair the 10bhp is obviously just a PR activiy. Keeping ahead of the Jones (i.e Pug 180). And you cant blame renault really.

I cant help thinking that they should have added a bit more power, afterall a good driver can make up for 10 bhp. I would like to feel what improvements they have made in the handling!

Oh and just thinking about it I have just bought a 172 and yep they are a fab car, my mate has a BMW 318M sport, he had a blat in it and came out with a big smile!!!
