Anyone else's internet stupidly slow tonight?

My 'broadband' is running seriously slow tonight.

Just loading video's on youtube, or trying a search on cliosport is taking soo long and has started to hang up!!

Soo frustrating!!!

nope, Orange, since they took over from Wanadoo it's been complete tosh!

I've always regarded AOL & freeserve or whatever there called these days as the worst ISP's so it's something you'll have to get use to.

when it was wanadoo and freeserve before that it used to run perfect at it's required speed whatever the connection was we we're paying for. but orange have just slowed it down made it more reliable etc... think Im going to consider leaving them and switching. who's the best?

I was told tiscali are w**k, I really don't want to bother with switching etc seems so much hassle and if it's still slow will just have been such a waste of time

Well while i was in london was using ukonline, they where ok, but sometimes wouldn't connect, but think it was my old router as it was shite, but at the moe i'm with www.namesco.co.uk, but they only have a 5gb limit they have been spot on in the last 30 days i've been with them, depends if you need unlimited downloads or not. Also names is only 30 day contract.

AOL's actual connections are perfect low pings in games decent speeds. Its just the software that gives AOL a bad name. And the software doesnt need to be used so the service is actually fairly good.

Tiscali is w**k has been for years. bt is the same.

Another one to check out is http://www.eclipse.net.uk/ one of the better ISP's around and have been for a long time. What i currently use and recommend them. Brilliant pings in games fast downloads.

They also do rather well in surveys as being one of the best ISP's

Opposite of what most ppl think... :S

Have you used it to know from experiance or just following what you have heard. The only downside to AOL's system is need to set an MTU size yourself in router config as 1500 wont work properly. Other than that the software is the only weak link.

Whatever you do, don't go with Plus. Absolute w**k. Customer service is s**t, connection is s**t, stupid limiting system - if changing provider wasn't so much hassle I would of done it ages ago.

Not hard to change can be done in a couple days just need your mac code. Some providers like eclipse will even do the work for you. Just have a look around.
