Sold anyway.....
And Dags, not a dig, but if you knew anything about engine management you would also know that they work around the 15-15.5:1 a/f ratio, leaner that the perfect ratio for best power. Why, because cats need a specific ratio to convert the waste gasses from combustion into harmelss byproducts. It dont filter, it dont reduce, it totally changes the product.....hence, lower emissions.
Peak power is made at about 14.3-14.7:1
The benefits of an ecotek are minimal, why.....firstly, it works on overrun where there is a pressure differential larg enough to open the simple spring valve. The Swirl it creates at the point of exit fromt he valve might be there, but is swirl still there when you negotiate teh initial 90 deg bend, along the servo pipe, into the manifold and evenly distributed into each cylinder. Placement of the servo breather on the manifold is not always equidistant form each cylinder, then you have to take into account floe direction and rates, and the amout bled is minute, were talking ml in volume. Add that to the hundreds of liters of air processed by an engine and you see that it really does not do anything.
next time there is a thunderstorm, put a feather 10ft from you in the garden and try blow it witha straw.........yea, exactly, impossible.
Then we get into tumble created as air passes the inlet valve/s, not to mention turbulant effects inside the inlet tract.............
