Anyone had issues with 182 having no spare wheel ?

Doesn't the 182 have no spare wheel to allow the rear exhausts to poke through rear bumper ?

Has anyone had any issues with no spare wheel ?

And how good is the can of tyre weld you get instead in substitute for the spare wheel ?

Is it any good at fixing problems/punctures, as long as your tyre has no big holes in it etc.

Is it really worth sacrificing the wheel ?

Or is it all about saving weight ?

I hit the kerb once and it blew out my tyre. I was near home so my dad took me for a new tyre.

Has the tyre foams cans got enough pressure in them to inflate tyre properly ?

And how long can you run after using tyre foam ?

Or is it a temp fix ?

I have had issues with my 197, same difference tyre wise...

Got puncture...sunday, nowhere had tyre in stock...

Tyre weld is sh1t, it is defo only temporary and if you put it in the tyre is no longer repairable, even if it was in the first place...

I think you need both cans per tyre, I think they are just a 'get home' idea.
They don't inflate the tyre they fill it up. Tyre places hate tyre foam too.

I bought my 182 Cup back in June. Within two months two tyres had punctured.

The tyre weld worked o.k. on one, not the other.

For piece of mind either invest in a spare wheel with tyre fitted or carry round a spare tyre. Mobile tyre units fit em' in minutes, but man handle the wheel. Dents and scratches afterwards.

I have a spare but leave it in the garage. Got two cans of tyre foam though.

Very nice. I should really do the same, although it must weigh around 25 kgs?

I could'nt give a toss at the weight having no spare is not an option in my book.

Too true;)

When it's freezing & your sitting on the side of the road with your car jacked up shaking your tins of repair fluid. 25kg's will be the last thing on your mind.

Get a spare like the rest of us.

After my experience I will make sure my next car has a spare! Got stranded at Port Isaac in Cornwall after blowing out a tyre - the hole was too big to use tyre foam so had to call the AA. The road was too narrow for the recovery truck to get to it! He had to reverse all the way down the hill and we had to push it onto the truck. It was the biggest pain in the ass EVER.

Get a spare, it's worth it.

I had a puncture earlier this year. The tyre weld was 100% useless. I was really lucky that the Kwik Fit near by had 1 PE2 in stock!!

Even after that grief I'd still not put a spare in my boot like that. I'd never get me large monthly shop in there. It's tight with a gym bag, work back and laptop as it is!

Haven't had a problem in the Clio, touch wood, but had a puncture in my Lupo GTi which doesn't have a spare either. Tyre weld worked ok but also had a compressor which th eClio doesn't seem to come with. Got a Halfords compressor in the boot of the Clio along with the Tyreweld just in case.

  197-I love!!!
What sort of wheel fits if you don't get a 182 wheel? Is there a normal pressed steel that fits or what is the space saver that fits?

Vauxhall 4 stud (4 x 100) has the same pattern but the hub is smaller so needs enlarging to fit.

Hmmm...I think the space saver is the way to go.

Vauxhall 4 stud from the current Vectra? How do I go about enlarging the hub?

Each to there own but nope. Its a weight and design issue.

Any clio bar the V6 and 197 will fit PCD and center bore wise just idealy need a 15 as a 14 means if you get a flat front you have to swop a frotn to back and stick the 14 on the back as its not big enough to clear the calipers.
