anyone know of anywhere in the UK where there is scope to abuse a car without having to pay extortionate track day fees? Like an old airfield or anything like that. I live in Manchester but wouldnt mind travelling around, is this just wishfull thinking and/or trespassing?!

Have a look at www.motorsport-events.co.uk. Their track days are much cheaper than most - £80 or thereabouts I think. Good organisation and nice people too.
