Anyone upgraded 182 standard speakers

My rear ones seem to be vibrating a little so just thinking of upgrading them if its worth it.

If anyone has already done this could you tell me what models you have used.

Youd be better off upgrading head unit before the speakers if youve not done so already?

Yup hu is the weak point in the system Id replace that before the speakers, just check that the speaker is screwed in place correctly.

FYI theyre 5.25 inch speakers in both the front and rear.

So was the one in the 172 but theyre both pants when compared to an aftermarket one.

I think the sound is ok on the standard one.

Just like the idea of the mp3/wma instead of messing around with cds all over the car + the expense of a changer + cable.

Just keep 1 cd in car and when your bored with it burn another one !

Still cant find better than £262 for the alpine!

The interior of the clio looks stupid with an aftermarket hu. Untill someone on here modifies an aftermarket with a stock faceplate i think ill be keeping my factory HU. change speakers and slap in a small 4 channel amp if its more sound you want. If you want quality then youre going to have to put up with a mingin centre console.

A few look ok in the Clio but you need to select the correct one very carefully.

have a look at a nakamichi head unit, they look as boring as the OE head unit, but the sound quality produced is exceptional

result = stock looking head unit, with superior sound quality

I upgraded to the JBLs (there was a £50 for 4 offer discussed on here a while ago), and tbh I cant tell much difference; deffo need to upgrade the headunit first!

lol, yeah, coz the standard HU is soooo attractive as a slab of plastic with a few buttons on it!

Slap in some Infiniti 552is (Or theres new part no equiv) and itll sound 10x better than the stock speakers, Ive not upgraded the head unit - and dont want to, but the Infinitis are well worth changing to - much better sound to them.

Gotta agree with Andy - fitting an aftermarket HU doesnt look the prettiest in a Clio, especially when lit up at night. It just looks right. Fair enough, not the best sounding, but youve got to spend a sh*tload of money to get a good aftermarket setup. Ill probably be sticking with the standard HU for a while yet (maybe wont even change it) but speakers will be getting changed.

The aftermarket HU I think would fit in best would be one of the Alpines that you can colour match to you dash (e.g. CDA-8931A, although Im not sure if the blue buttons change colour too - anyone know?).
