Anyone with 16s on a mk1 non-16v





I know its been asked before, but I want to here it from people who have actually got 16s on their clio.

I have a mk1 phase 3 with the standard arches. I am thinking of getting new rims and keep changing my mind between 15s and 16s.

If I get 15s I am going to slam it 60mm, if I get 16s Ill be more conservative with the drop. (Basically 15s are cheaper but a 60mm drop needs a full kit so makes it about the same as 16s with just 35mm springs)

What I need to know is this, with 16s and a 35-40mm drop will my car scrub YES/NO

Hi mate ive got a 1.4rt and ive got 195/45/16s on it and its dropped 35mm.It only rubs on full lock on my car but im having my archs rolled as ive got more subs to go in and the weight will make it rub.

cheers mate, do they rub at the back at the moment?

My boots full of amps/subs so its lowered a bit anyway.

Out of interest what wheels/tyres have you got?

Ive had a lot of hassle with mine, got 17s and it looked great but was nearly undrivable, got 16s now and I still gets loads of scrubbing, my 15s were perfect wish I never changed em! Just have to drive it really carefully - not too fast!
 


Im changing down to 16s in 2 weeks - 17s were undrivable and causing more hassle toothe suspension and joints than it was worth - should get a bit more performance back now and maybe the bumps wont feel as bad!

Hi mate ive got 195/45/16s Tsw Flys with yokos. I maybe getting 17s as i mite get the Maxi wide arch kit for my car.as im having the 1.616v megane transplant.and having a huge install including 6subs and amps and stuff.

It only rubs on the back if i have people in there.

i got 17s and lowered about 40-45 at the back and 35 at the front{which needs to be a bit more lower} and a boot full of ice and only rubs if i have anyone in the back and go overa big hump in the road.

ill check the off set next time the wheels are off.

p.s the tyres i have make ALOT of difference because the tyre wall is slanted instead of being straight.
