Anyway to fit badges with broken clips?

  Audi TT 3.2 V6
Hi guys & girls,

Ive recently bought these badges and when they arrived, on one of the badges 2 of the 3 clips are broken (to the point its almost smooth were the clips used to be)

Anyone have any suggestions on how i could still make use of these badges? Ive circled the broken clips in red.

Thanks for your help, Russ

My clips broke, so i used sticky pads, which fell off. Then i used expoxy resin, which hasn't fallen off...

silicone +1, without a doubt. will stick like s**t to a blanket but it can be removed, just avoid getting any overspill when you push it on

Id demand my money back unless it stated in the Page that there was clips missing mate

When PM'ing the seller i specifically asked about the condition of the badges and if all clips were intact.

The seller said that the badges needed painting. I was happy with that as i was going to paint them anyway.

He was origionally asking for £25 posted so i (rightly or wrongly) presumed that they would at least be in a useable condition. I said the most i would pay is £12 posted, he said other people were interested and would be intouch. Half an hour or so later he got intouch saying he would accept £15 posted. As they needed painting i said the most i would pay remains £12 posted which would leave should leave him £10 after p&p which he agreed to.

I pm'd the seller after receiving the badges today to which he first replied with

Sorry Russ, completely forgot that they were broken...

However, u can still clip them onto the strips with glue, and just pull it off when u dont need them...

Sorry i forgot to mention this.

However, it did kind of reflect in the price... £12 was a bargain.
i then found out that he bought the badges from another person a few months previous (knowing full well the clips were broken). Once challenged he claims he paid £10 + P&P, although in the thread the last post was him offering £8 posted.

Regardless, i find it quite disapointing that a fellow CS'er would try and sell the badges on for a tidy profit hiding the fact that they were broken. However in fairness the seller has now offered a full refund once he has received the badges in the same coniditon that they left him, although i am a little skeptical as to whether he will try to pull a fast on there so have sent him some pictures via pm of the badges and asked him to confirm that he is happy with the condition.

I would say you want half the money back or you will start a claim. And probably win anyway.

During me taking mine off i broke a clip. Its an easy thing to do. However not excusable for him trying to con you.

I would see what you can get back and just Silicone them on.

^ To be honest mate im not really happy to start glueing bits to my car, whilst i suppose its one less thing to rattle id rather them just be clipped on.

i think you should name and shame

No, im not going to name and shame unless the seller gets funny about a refund. If i get refunded with no problems i will not be naming and shaming the seller and will just put it down to a genuine mistake on his part.

After re-reading my post i feel that this sounds a little unfair and sounds like im doubting the price the seller paid. id just like to clarify that im not, i do believe that he paid £10 + p&p as he says and have no reason not to believe this.

I was just stating what i read on the thread after which point i have no doubt that they negotiated over pm, which is common practice as im sure weve all done it at somepoint :)

i know who u bought them off! get moneys back

I would appreciate it if you would mind keeping it to yourself as i dont want to drag the sellers name through the dirt.

I would also like to say that as soon as i asked for a refund he agreed no problem.

I also know who the seller is and tbh he is a genuine guy as i think can be demonstrated by the quickness to apologise and offer a refund.

edit: i would be tempted to ask for a partial refund and keep them tbh

Yeah, i have no real doubts over him being a genuine guy. Hes a regular poster and buys/sells quite alot on cs.

I did think about asking for a partial refund, although in all honesty i have no real use for them as i dont really want to start glueing things to my car.

Again i would just like to say that once this is dealt with im quite happy to put it down to a genuine mistake and forget all about it.

Seller is now claiming another clip has been broken on the return carriage of the badges. Whilst i accept that this could have happened i cant help but feel that had the seller been upfront in the first place then this would all have been avoided.

Doesn't surprise me in the least, £12 is quite cheap though, having said that if he complained that an additional clip was broken on their return he obviously knew that the other ones were broken in the first place.
I ve had no problems with him and bought an item from him myself although I know a few have had a few issues.

just been advised refund is being done tomorrow

Was just about to post this in reply to fubar's question. After alot of messages being passed to and fro the seller eventually agreed to a refund as "I'm fed up with u moaning".

I agree £12 is quite cheap however they could have been £2 and i wouldnt have bought them in that condition if i had known. The seller was origionally asking for £25 which would lead you to beleive theyre in top nick imo.

Its the principle of it as much as anything, its only £12 but its £12 i refuse to spend on what is essentially crap.
