AP runs this afternoon.

  S2000

Thought Id get the AP performance meter out from hibernation and give it an another try, I was very careful to set it up as accurately as possible.

The roads were very greasy and I couldnt get a lot of power down in first, i reckon on a dry day i could get a few tenths off the 0-60 and 0-100 time.

good times there mate, had a go with adis ap 22 today in the vts, similar road circumstances, actually outlined how crap the standard tyres are when i tried accelerating out of a corner!, went sideways, strange really cos they werent that bad going forwards if you werecareful with the go pedal, anyways did 0-60 in 7.7 with a passenger which i thought was rather good.

I think the 90-100 part of the run waas slightly up hill, Ill try a true run at Crail in February, it really is a usefull bit of kit, Ill use it to see what difference these new Cup mods will make!

hehe after a quik play with adis today i think trying it on a standing start round a greasy roundabout and back off it doesnt work lol

think after wed under and oversteered round and off the roundabout was something like 14 secs to 60 lol

was fun tho

Having a closer look at that, I think I changed out of third too soon on the second run. On the first run I ran the neck out of it in third, on the second i changed as soon as the green light came on, you can see where I start to loose time after 80!

These are a couple of runs I did when I had 1k miles on the clock. Theres a nasty B road in the hood, with huge visibility and no traffic, and I couldnt resist. Some of my runs werent this good though...

Start Speed 0.0mph

Peak G: 71.0mph 12.89s 992ft 0.73g

Comparing the times there

0-60 - 6.98 in Teadys 172

Pillesnophen Cup = 0-60 6.63

Thas absolutely spot on - Thats the 0-60 time for a 172 and for the CUP. The Cups quicker, not gonna do any better in standard 172 Im afraid - Theres no way a Mk2 will do 60 in mid 60s that means our cups will do it in 6 dead!!

  S2000

I think i could maybe knock 2/10 off my 0-60 only by getting better traction over the 1st 60ft, id expect 2.6/7 over the first 60ft/30MPH. I dont think the 0-100 time is going to come down by much though!

If you go by the official reanulty figures the MK2 being 7.0/7.1 and the Cup being 6.9. Then id expect the cup to maybe do 6.4/6.5 max on a good launch and a MK2 to do a 6.6/6.7 max on a good launch!

well if ur lookin at gettin 2.4 to 60ft and getting mid 6s .thats whast the willy must be running at cos most of my 60 ft times on the strip are 2.3 secs with the odd 2.2

Yeah but its proven renaults official figures are wrong - all the big mags tested it at 6.5 to 60! And thats what it is!

Hmmm, I personally feel that there is very little difference bw a Cup and a non-cup. It was indeed dry when I tried it out, if it would have been wet, I doubt I could have bettered Teadys times. I dont really know. It would be fun to meet up, a whole load of us, and abuse our cars and timing gear up and down some airstrip...

iF i COULD GET OVER TO eNGLAND GUYS i WOULD - ITS NO FUN OVER HERE BECAUSE ALL YOU GUYS ARE OVER THERE AND THERES ONLY 1 OTHER 172 AND 1 OTHER CUP HERE PLUS A V6 DRIVEN BY THE OWNER OF RENAULT - I DONT KNOW ANY OF THESE GUYS AND DONT THINK THERE ON THIS FORUM ANYHOW?

Most are. Some people will never get better than 0-60 in 8 secs because theyre technique is no good. Some people will get better because they rag their cars.

French manufacturers (especially Peugeot) are notoriously conservative with their bhp/accelerative times. The 306 GTi6/Rallye were rated at 167bhp and a 0-60 of 8.4 - most make nearer to that at the wheels and have 0-60s in the mid 6s.
