Apache Help! Asap :)

Hi,

Set up apache for first time today... all running... I put together a test html file just to see if it works. Entered "http//:127.0.0.1/index.htm" which is my localhost and it brings up the page fine enough. However I want people to access the file via the internet. Am i right in saying they would type in "http://81.86.xxx.xx" and then it should work ? However it just times out, can someone please help me?

See, I thought it just needed a port forward from the perimeter router. but...
