Apple earphones with mic/remote on 3g

Bought a set after reading that they don't seem to support the 3g, but thought what the hey. The mic works, which is what I bought them for mainly,..

I've had the all the buttons working apart from volume, but now only pause/play works, really weird.

Anyone using them with a 3g?

Only the play pause button works on the 3g/2g.

They also work fully with my MBP (which is odd)

How weird. Wonder why the skip buttons worked originally. And why the compatibility issue in the first place.

The 3g/2g doesn't have the hardware to process the volume commands. Just so you know one click is pause, two fast clicks are next track and three fast clicks are go back a track.

Yeah ta. Think I'd forgotten the 2 and 3 click procedure. I FAIL. The volume control never worked tho... Cheers Tom.
