Are all F7P engines from a clio the same

Hello!

Another question for everybody! cheers for the help so far.

If I bought a 1991 / 1992 16v F7P engine, would it fit straight into my late 1995 16v? are they identical?

If so, what is the difference between a mk1 phase 1 and a mk1 phase 2?

Cheers!

Chris.

Yes fella it will fit

I have a late 1995 lump in a K Plate!! I know its the other way round but same principle. Phase differences were purely cosmetic I believe and some Early valver lumps didnt have the 5th Cold Start Injector.

It will fit - make sure you get the ecu that originally ran the older engine as there are different types....

EArly 16Vs had the ally sump.

And there are a few diffs, but all have the cold start injector.

Main difference is in the head casting (of which wouldnt most of you love to know the flow differences lol) and placement of the coolant temp sensor.

Early heads have it tapped direct into the head and later ones have it placed in the thermostat housing. Colour of sensor corresponds with each ones.
