Are Clios the best cars?

If you look at ALL the car mag group hot hatch shoot outs from three years ago , the 182 was streets ahead of the opposition, so I suppose there is a case for saying the Clio is best. lol

my coilovered 1.2 16v would have murdered my 172 if it had the same power! the speed it could carry round a bed was awesome!!

but standard vs standard the 172 is in a totally different league! even if you forgot about the power difference the road holding is awesome! the steering is miles ahead of the 1.2's the weight is perfect in the steering.

The Ph-Porky 197 is another story

true... it's better than the rest. May not be quicker in a straight line, but put it on track against ANY other Clio RS and it would spank them. Cornering and grip is much much better. Mk1 to Mk2 the difference isn't there, the car never evolved, but the 197 is the real deal imo, I'll consider getting one at some point

As a neutral in the Clio's group of hot hatch competitors id say the Civic Type R was a better car in most aspects and im a clio owner
