Are FF seats comfier than Cup seats?

hi, picked up my first clio yesterday (172 cup) and couldn't help noticing how thin the central part of the seats are. do the FF seats have much better lower back support than the cup seats, and which sell for more money 2nd hand- the cup seats or the FF seats? thanks, kris

Regular 172 seats sell for more as part leather part alcantara effect. I think the shape is almost the same if not identical, it's just the regular seats look more luxurious and are substantially different to the lower clio range. Cup seats are lighter due to simpler finish and not having airbags in the bolsters like the regular Sport ones do.

I don't know about the lumbar adjustment on the cup seats, but 172/182 seats do have this. Although mine's broken so no idea how good it is.

You could pick up a set of ph2 172 seats for circa £250 in bloody good nick.

Ph2 172 seats have lumbar adjustment, so they are more supportive in the lower back. But if you're changing, just get some decent aftermarket seats.

Nothing wrong with the seats, it's that they are mounted 10th up that's the problem.

i think the standard seats are pretty good, remove the spacers and they can sit a bit lower.

The only problem with them is the seat back wobbles on almost every one i've had. There must be a way to tighten them up somewhere...

However, if you are upgrading seats do it properly and get some Recaros. Not worth it otherwise.

I flogged my cup seats on ebay for £50.

Not worth it for Recaro's in all honesty. They don't go anywhere near low enough.

My bad, should have explained better, Recaros minimum if upgrading, low buckets even better.
