arggh 16v spoiler

please can some1 give me advice on fittin a 16v spoiler on2 my mk1 phase3 clio

There are two clips at either side; the spoiler attaches with two T20(?) torx screws, plus plastic clips along the whole length, Renault also used double sided tape to get a good seal.

Go to Renault and say you need some clips for it, they should pull up the screen with a blown up drawing of the rear section...this will show you exactly what you need!

The 16v tailgate has holes for screws, but not the non 16v tailgate, so screws are useless to him.

Double sided sticky pads, local bodyshop will prolly have some, or be able to point you in the direction

Hmmm, I thought he could of attached the clip to the tailgate and screwed into that.

Sticky pads be enough to hold it?

Be a swine to get the clips on..

Could just use bodywork tape - double sided foam stuff which could stick cars to ceilings with one strip.. heh.

The spoiler on my valver has three screws, but it fell off and I only have one now! Are these the T20 Torx screw? Where can I get some from? Cheers, Matt

Double sided bodywork tape will be more than enough...IIRC it was good enough to keep a 16v spoiler attached on weights old 16v (bannana/yellow 2ltr 16v)...go get some!

Three??? Is there one in the centre?? I must admit it was a while ago when I took mine off for painting. But yes T20, there must be about 400 of thease booming things on any MK1.....get down a scrappy and compare it to one of the two you have remaining!

I used some tiger seal when i stuck mine on.
Worked allright, but when i got a boot with the holes in it fitted alot better.
