ARGHH!! Crankshaft Pulley Bolt

  MK1 Diesel Clio
Hi guys, got a 1.9 clio parked outside after trying to undo the crankshaft pulley bolt it simply won't budge, i've had someone hold a screwdriver in the starter ring teeth but this doesnt work either. Its on really tight and the starter ring method does not work as advised in the haynes manual. Theres also no holes in the pulley so i cant bolt something on to keep it still.
ANy ideas?
thanks :)

hi guys, thanks for the replys i was using a breaker bar. I tried putting it into 5th gear and trying but the engine still just about turns, if i put my foot on the break should this stop it moving?

cheers

Yes put it in gear and use brake.

Or have someone put a prybar between the flywheel ring-gear and the gearbox casing.
