I was just reading a thread on here and someone mentioned Asda Smartprice oil

What would this be a mineral oil ?


And what cars would you use it in ?

old old ones ?

As i'd have thought it'd do damge to many. :S

Don't wory i have no plans on using this in my 172 ever.

And i'm staying away from Castrol oils as well.

i WOULDN'T EVEN USE IT IN THE BIRDS 206 Quicksilver.

Depends what it says on the bottle butmy bets is it would be 20-50w

i used it on my old fiesta i had no probs at all with it and i know someone who try it in a 320 e30 bmw and that was ok.

they wouldn't really get away with selling a product that damaged cars, as said, most oil is made in the same places, as with most petrolium products.

Some just charge an excess on branding.

yer, to an extent. a lot of better quality more expensive oils are blended differently to be purer and have more additives which extend life and certain qualities. you get what you pay for.

lidi supermarket chrisps are made by Golden wonder.
sainsburys "blue bolt" (redbull stuff) is made by cott who make red rooster
and tesco own brand jaffer cakes are the same as netto ones.

same with petrol and electronics, and oil
