Attention people with carbon splitters

just bought my carbon splitter from k-tec looked over the invoice and i havent recieved my 5% discount and then their are alot of defects in the carbon weave is everyone else's like this? some pics below

now everyone nows i'm working my ass off to get my car done and this is gonna be a set back i've mailed dave to see what he can do

I think there are very few that com through 100% perfect, but that does look a little more than what is acceptable.
Im sure Dave will sort it out for ya.

Mine had a little bit of that going on but isn't noticable when on the car.

The spitter isn't 100% carbon fibre anyway....if you look at the back of it you'll see the glass fibre construction.

Probably get broken off anyway so I wouldn't worry about it.

I wouldn't be too happy with that personally, I know that there will be 'imperfections' but to be able to see it that clearly in a picture looks a bit too imperfect to me.

I'd give em a call and ask mate.

First day on the Forums here but will be taking regular part in threads from here on in as K-Tec's Sales and Development Manager. Firstly regarding your Splitter, from what I can see on from the photo's it looks like you have some bad weave settling, a bit like Donald Trump! You should also have received a 5% Cliosport Discount which we do try to ask members to point out if they order by phone or over the website. If you would return the splitter to us highlighting the problem areas then we will happily change it for you, as long as we are told about problems we can at least have a chance to correct them. You can contact me directly at K-Tec on 01202 820800 to get this organised if you like and perhaps we can sort something out about the discount owed to you too. As I say if you give me the chance to sort problems first, we can deal with any issues with ease.

Not being funny but it's a splitter, you'll probably break it anyway.

A HANS device uses about half the carbon fibre than the splitter and looks amazing. The problem is that it costs over £500. Doesn't take a genuis to work out that k-tec can't use 100% carbon when people want cheap stuff.

It's like buying a Powerflow exhaust and complaining it's welds aren't as good as a Fujitsubo.

That said, my splitters done over 50,000 miles.

Sure there were a few imperfections but it only cost me £40 (thanks telford mike) It takes small animal impact very well.

Brilliant product, the stock one is crap.

i wasnt expecting it being perfect i have a carbon fibre engine cover and bonnet and these have one or two tiny mishaps but this has lots,

thanks for replying sean i mailed dave the same time this morning when i posted at info@k-tecracing.com, i did make sure to say that i'm a clio sport member and i gave my member name and number when ordering, the thing thats frustrating is that there was a group buy on and the splitters where £90 inc vat and delivery i've paid an extra £30 total price being £121.03 and i've already broke up the blooming box it came in!
i think a fitted turbo is in order or atleast some good deal on something i want

They typically take a couple of days to reply via email, so not much point if you need a quick answer.

When I got my splitter they charged me full price, only took a phone call to get the money refunded very quickly, good service

i usually get a replay the same day via e-mail, and i havent been able to phone them as i work in the studio all day hence why i mailed them, their a good company and are always great with customers just wait and see what happens

Spoke too soon

Hit a flying branch yesterday and it shattered, splitting the front bumper along with it. Bloody winds. :dapprove:
