Black & Orange Mk2 project

Update

So I made a last minute decision and went home at the weekend as the weather was predicted to be good on Sunday, fortunately it was (for most of the day) so I got the sunroof out and resealed it as well as sealing the drain tube to the plastic connector, after checking it over the seal wasn't that bad so this has confirmed my original though that it is the drain tube connection that is leaking. I also fitted my CREE side and reversing lights they are seriously bright I would definitely recommend them.

my 16mm spacers have also arrived although I didn't have time to fit them. that will have to wait for another weekend as well as pictures of the new bulbs as my phone ran out of battery.

So a few little things In this update. (I apologize in advance for the poor quality phone pictures)

so firstly a pic of the front wheels spaced, it looks slightly strange with the rear ones not on.

So after ordering a few things from auto finesse I got some free samples of tough coat and illusion wax, today I gave the car a top up clean and finished it of with illusion and then tough coat.

Really impressed with these products and will definitely be ordering some of both products, they were easy to put on and buff off and the finished that both tough coat and illusion was simply awesome, I don't think I have seen the car look this good.

After the car was all finished I finally fitted my MCM sticker that I picked up at the Uk meet and added my new autofinesse air freshener that smells like strawberry laces.

  Renault Clio
How does your exhaust sound when idling? I was thinking of getting me one of these, but I want it to sound good on idle and not have to rev the pants off it for it to sound at least half decent :') and how hard was it to fit? did you duo it yourself?

How did you spray the rear renault badge and Clio badge?

Yeh just a few can's of paint, primer and clear lacquer from halfrauds

Yeh it sounds good when idling no need for much revving I got a friend to fit for a bit of cash.

Try "softening" the front badge............

Not a bad idea might give this a go when I have the time.

  Titanium 182
They where removed from the car if you take of the inner boot lid trim you can get them both off, the clio badge pops off and you need to remove 3 bolts to get the diamond off.

hi mate, got under the boot liner to try and remove the 'Clio' badge but I can't get my head around how to get it off?

  Titanium 182
I tried that but couldn't quite get it off, does it take some force and one of the things are quite hard to get to aswell.

  Titanium 182
Seeing how your exhaust sits I've bought the same powerflex mount, how did you get it into the hanger?

Update

It has been a while, but I have been busy starting another semester at uni and working on this years formula student car. Anyway just a small update.

First off I finally re-sprayed the centre diamonds on my turini's.

Its not the best job but they look much better than they did.

Up next one of my headlights had started leaking so I removed and re-sealed both of them.

Once the headlights where refitted the car got a good clean including its first claying, it was then finished with c2v3 sealant and G5 Gtechniq. (and some mercury metal polish on the exhaust tip)

And finally not particularly car related the 1*2 fund has taken a bit of hit after I splashed out on a new PC setup.

One last picture its not really relevant to this update but it shows just how far this car has come since I brought it almost 2 years ago.

  Clio Ph2 1.2
Hey dude! Car's looking totally insane! Love the Turini's and the rear bumper especially! I was just wondering as I've got a 1.2 and want to get some mods done, how do you afford the insurance? haha! Like how much is it costing you? cheers

Cheers, yeh the insurance is the killer the only thing that brings it down is no claims, also pick the right insurer, some charge more per mod than others.

Very nice example mate, looks tidy! :)

Cheers mate, next up a nice 182 I think.

Update

So it has been a while since I have updated the tread mainly because of uni work and the search for a new car. Anyway after deciding I wanted a change I stripped most of the mods off my 1.2 (these will be for sale shortly) and set about finding a replacement.

After looking at a few 182's and not really finding what I was looking for I decided to explore the possibility of something not small and french, that leaves me here:

MX5 Mk1
