Auto door locks in 2001+ cars??

I have previoulsy owned a 51 (2002) plate clio dynamique & now a 53 plate 172 cup.
Neither of these locked the doors as i pulled away, yet i get into a mates 51 (2001) plate Clio Authentique (i think) as she pulled away you can hear the doors lock? whats that all about?

How come the Authentique has it but my higher spec dynamique didn't?? or am i missing something here?

you have to turn on the auto-lock, someone will tell you how, i cant remember!

it can be turned on and off, with the engine running hold the interior door lock button down for 5 seconds and it will beep. Do this to turn it on/off.

Lol @ RAID, can't even begin to think how many cars had that 5 years ago. But yes, Renault don't make a habit of letting you know about these things. Tates in Newhaven has to have the worst service I've ever experienced.

I had to literally drag the c**t outside to show me how to turn on the auto lights. (that's, turn the engine off, and turn the sidelights on and off twice, it will beep).

Anyone know how to do the auto wipers on and off ???

don't think the Auto Wipers are switchable, with the stalk in the OFF position they are not on, one click down they are ON, any other position and they are OFF.

Auto is the 1st step down though, it doesn't seem to have an interval feature, just off, auto or on.

depends on the car, some do, some don't. Mine has one touch on both doors.

done it today.. sat on the drive before leaving for work.. held the button & it beeped & it now locks as a drive away
