do side lights on car run through a relay to switch them on and off? or do they just link round eachother and get fed direct from the switch/stalk

in general.. not clio (my starlet)

Best way to test is with a voltmeter/ammeter... or with a bulb!

not sure what your getting at but i guess they run fron a relay thats for your dash lights

so u think that - a. the stalk feeds a relay that feeds the dash and side lights?

or b. the stalk feeds the dash which then feeds a relay to the side lights?

the problem is i've lost my rear lights and side lights. i still have dipped beam but with no rears. also have no dash lights.

(now the science bit.... my turbo timer is built into my alarm... when the turbo timer is running my side lights are meant to come on. (no idea why? way it was done) the turbo timer part seems to have a 20amp fuse inline to it. activating the turbo timer does still turn the turbo timer on with side lights but after a while of being on that 20amp fuse goes.)

i still have indicators and hazards too.

i'm thinking either the stalk is faulty.. or a relay perhaps has gone? or alarm fault? ...
