yeah theyve prolly just been switched off. turn ignition full on, but dont start car then switch your lights on and off repeatedly to the sidelight position till you hear a beep. Hey presto sorted mate!!

Switch the ignition to setting one ie before you start the car but the lights on the dash still come on and turn the lights stalk fully on and off twice.

If you do it right youll hear a beep and the lights should be working again.

To check just put your hand over the sensor on the windscreen.

If that doesnt work then it will be covered under warently the light sensors have been known to break before.

the headlights still work i presume? Probably the sensor then as edde says mate.

But do you really need them. I just find them a pain, you pull up under a garage forecourt, go under a bridge, etc. and they come on, you pull away and they stay on.
Ive never found it that hard to turn them on manually.
Same with the auto wipers, how hard is it to flick them on yourself. Is there any way to turn them off auto as when you put them to intermittent (sp) they just wipe when they want, not when i want.
Both just another gimmick, and something else to go wrong,IMO.

yeh headlights still work, just like them to come on auto as dont have to remember to turn them on. i think its good. i agree about the wipers though they never work at the right time

If you leave the wiper switch on the top position then it wont wipe at all the first section down just turns on the auto, the next down have them on constantly.

I find the auto lights and wipers very good though.

So we dont have intermittant any more, as this should be at the first position down?
So what is the point of the ring around the stalk, as this should be to control the frequency of the wipes.
As for not having to remember to turn the light on:confused: ,should you really be driving a car if you dont know when to turn the lights on;)

The ring round the stalk determines the "sensitivity" of the sensor i.e in its lowest setting it will ignore small drizzle and in the fastest setting the slightest drop of water will make the wipers wipe. Although I find it annoying as it never wipes at the right time or its on the wrong sensitivity setting so you have to change the thing anyway!

Hi guys, just slightly off topic but can anyone explain why when you go to flash your lights when auto lights is chosen the fookers stay on thus blinding the oncoming driver!!

Its a pain in the a$$ hence why i switch auto headlights off.

Anyone know if theres a way round this tho?

^ Oh right, mine do.

The stalk doesnt spring back on its own, i have to push it back to turn my full beam off.

Its strange because when auto lights are off all i do is pull the stalk and hey presto quick flash, springs back.

Very annoying.

iturned my auto lights off from the start, pain in the arse turning on under bridges and at the petrol station.

Whats worse is the fact that when you wash your windscreen using the squirters you get 2 wipes from the wipers and then 10secs later you get another wipe that completely mucks it all back up again!

Dont want to look like im moaning all the time, after all its a great car, but these niggly things really spoil the experience.

Im just lazy dont like having to do work even as little as switching the lights on.

You could pull the wires on the two sensors for the lights and wipers if you wanted.

Dont need to go to those extremes, you can disable the lights, as you already know, so why not the wipers. Anyway edde it wasnt you that originally quoted that.

sorry wasnt sure what you meant, yes you have to pull the stalk again afterwards, it does not spring back on its own.

Same happens to me too! I thought I must be doing something wrong, as I must have blinded the poor guy coming the other way..
