Autocar 0-100-0

  MINI JCW

I know what times 182 did on Autocars proper road test but was just wondering what times the 182 posted in the 0-100-0

Also what time did the 182 get for 0-60 and 0-100?

Anyone know?

Those are from the road test though (not the 0-100-0) or did the 182 post the same times in the 0-100-0

The reason I ask is becuase I know the megane posted significantly different times in the 2 different tests!

in the 0-100-0 test the 182 had a slightly slower figure for the 0-60 than when it was just the 0-60 by itself.

This was becasue the 182 can do 60 in 2nd just about which means you dont have to change up to third which loses time. In the 0-100-0 test though the idea was to get to 100 fastest which meant the 0-60 sufferered as the gear change was made just before 60 to get th best time for 100.

cant remember what the figures were though sorry.

From the Autocar 0-100-0 article (27th April 2004) here are the Hot Hatch results...

Clio 182:

0-60 = 6.73secs
0-100 = 17.01secs
0-100-0 = 21.95secs

The rest...

Alfa 147 GTA:

0-60 = 5.69secs
0-100 = 14.10secs
0-100-0 = 18.76secs

Megane RS 225:

0-60 = 6.03secs
0-100 = 15.45secs
0-100-0 = 20.19secs

Civic Type-R:

0-60 = 6.76secs
0-100 = 16.02secs
0-100-0 = 20.93secs

206 GTi-180:

0-60 = 6.96secs
0-100 = 19.66secs
0-100-0 = 24.36secs

Same day, same surface, same conditions and same driver(s), so as fair as you can get!

Well i would hope so!!!

Think its got a 3.2 engine, and costs £25k+

Dont quote me on those, but something like that!!!

Cheers, all the mags seem to get the 182 to 60 in well under 7 secs.

What suprises me though is how much quicker it is than the GTI 180, you would have though there would be nothing in it

GTI 180...What a joke! Didnt some old crime squad Carlton Gsi with intergalactic mileage beat it in that test also?

The Alfa is fooking rapid - in a straight line (as long as its dry..) but then 3.2 litres should do the trick really.

Ought to arrange a bit of a Clio 182 v 206 180 RR grudge match... I suspect a lot of the Pugs would be well under the factory quoted bhp (assuming no mods of course). Surely the cars are either well down on power or else the gearing is completely wrong as not like its loads heavier than any of its rivals..

From what Id seen/read on the PSOOC the power is fine, some of them are actually up, but the gearing is wrong by all accounts...
